1. Captain America (Steve Rogers)

If there is one thing any Jedi master wants to possess, it’s a clean resume. No one is that more true of than Captain America. Whereas every other character on this list has some form of a flaw or shortcoming, Steve Rogers may be the lone exception. He is the world’s first Avenger and the ideal embodiment of what a hero is expected to be.

First, his story begins just like anyone else’s, as an ordinary teenager being turned away by the country he is hoping to serve. That unlucky break ultimately grants Rogers the supersoldier serum that made him Captain America. Those humble beginnings align with a crucial idea recently pitched in Star Wars that the Force lives in anyone, and a Jedi knight could be in their future.

However, that serum is never what Captain America has been about. As The Falcon and the Winter Soldier poignantly show, the serum can grant strength but not alter the character of the person behind it. The heart found in that doubted young man has never been lost, nor has the constant desire to fight on behalf of others. That relentless “I can do this all day” attitude is what makes Captain America who he is.

Rogers is not just a hero, but the symbol for America, just as the Jedi are looked to as representatives of the entire galaxy. If there were one person I’d want that galaxy to look toward, it would undoubtedly be Captain America.
