It’s not an exaggeration to say that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was one of the best Star Wars games of the past decade. It had beautiful worlds, an engaging story and an intriguing main character. Played by Cameron Monaghan, Cal Kestis persevered through Order 66 hoping to carry on the Jedi Order and build a legacy of his own.

With his journey only just beginning by the game’s end and a sequel already on the way, there is no doubt that we will be seeing more of Kestis moving forward. However, will he and Monaghan ever make the jump over to the live-action universe? It’s hard to say at the moment, but “ever” is the key word here.

There has been nothing more than speculation about a live-action future thus far. Kestis was one of the many names floated around for season 2 of The Mandalorian, but of course, that did not come to fruition.

He could appear in future seasons, but that theory is tested by the show’s time period. Considering he is approximately 18 years old during the game’s events (19 BBY) and The Mandalorian is set around 9 ABY, some quick math places Kestis at about 46 years old. He could certainly come across Grogu’s path, but there is no information about how that could look.

I suppose The Book of Boba Fett is an option as well, but so little is known about that show’s plot that it is difficult to speculate. Simply put, anything set in the post-Revenge of the Sith era could very well include Kestis as one of the few remaining Jedi in the galaxy.

What about Cameron Monaghan in the animated world?

While Kestis may have a live-action future, one in the animated world seems much more likely instead. Set right after Order 66, it always seemed possible that Kestis could show up in The Bad Batch and that hypothesis has become even stronger after episode 7 of the series.

SPOILERS AHEAD for those who have not seen it, but Clone Force 99 makes their way to Bracca, which just so happens to be Kestis’ stomping grounds working as a scrapper. It is hard to tell the difference between a mere cameo and a key cog in the story, but Bracca certainly was not picked out of a magic hat.

Right now, I’d expect a subtle cameo in The Bad Batch more than anything, but we’ll have to wait and see. Cal Kestis’ name is out there and with how expansive of a future Disney+ has, it only seems like a matter of time until Cameron Monaghan appears there too.
