Now that summer is here, it means we can look forward to reading the second wave of The High Republic series. That is, we’re still in Phase 1 of The High Republic, but this next wave will follow up on the first books that were released back in the January launch of the series.

To keep you up to speed: the flagship novel Light of the Jedi by Charles Soule will be followed up by Cavan Scott’s The Rising Storm.

For the young-adult novels, Into the Dark by Claudia Gray will be followed up by Justina Ireland’s Out of the Shadows.

And lastly, for young readers, Justina Ireland’s A Test of Courage gets followed up by Daniel José Older’s Race to Crashpoint Tower.

The Rising Storm and Race to Crashpoint Tower will both be released on June 29 — just around the corner! Out of the Shadows will later be released on July 27. And ahead of those stories’ release, Star Wars revealed that there will be some special edition copies coming for both The Rising Storm and Out of the Shadows.

Based on the reveal from StarWars.com, there are three known special editions for The Rising Storm and two special editions for Out of the Shadows. The links and descriptions for each of those are below.

These are some awesome, new covers, and we’re sure they’ll be especially valuable to the collectors out there who like to get the most exclusive Star Wars items there are. And it’s amazing to think that we’re still in the first phase of this High Republic saga, meaning there will be so much more to look forward to in the future. (We know book-lovers are already rejoicing.)

So far, with wave 1, the Star Wars authors have created an extremely detailed, well-rounded narrative about the galaxy during this old time period. And we can’t wait to see what adventures they have in store for the Jedi next!
