12. Avar Kriss

Widely regarded as the noblest and honorable Jedi of the High Republic era, Jedi Master Avar Kriss embodied everything that the Order stood for. A selfless and strong-willed woman, Kriss possessed a unique skill set that allowed her to understand the Force in a way that few others ever could.

Kriss could see and hear the bonds between Force users and interact with them, similar to musical notes. This allowed her to visualize many different qualities among living beings through this special ‘network’. While this skill was not unheard of, virtually no Jedi were attuned to it, making Kriss’ ability extremely valuable among the Order.

Her noble cause and desire to bring peace to the galaxy led Avar Kriss to Hetzal after the Great Hyperspace Disaster. There, she oversaw preparations to stop hyperspace debris from extinguishing life on multiple moons, while also working alongside Jedi like Stellan Gios to help rescue many inhabitants.

This mission made her a hero in the eyes of the Galactic Chancellor, who offered her a position as the Jedi Marshal of the Starlight Beacon space station. Kriss would use this role to further enhance her role as peacekeeper, while also helping to maintain the delicate balance of the Force.

Avar Kriss was seen as the best and brightest of the Order, even among her contemporaries like Master Yoda. Her compassion and sensibility made her a unique asset to the Jedi, and her name would go on to garner great recognition and remembrance in the Jedi Archives.
