23. Yaddle

Before Grogu, aka Baby Yoda, burst onto the scene in 2019, Yaddle was the only other known member of Yoda’s species. She is also to date the only known female that we’ve seen of her species. While she only has a small part in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, she was a highly respected member of the Jedi High Council.

By the time of the prequels, Yaddle was already hundreds of years old and had trained many Jedi under her tutelage. One of her Padawans, Oppo Rancisis, even made it onto the Jedi High Council himself, and some of Yaddle’s additional Padawans also advanced far within the Jedi ranks.

While she was not the most adept with combat or a lightsaber, Yaddle was known to be extremely wise and scholarly. Reportedly, she spent a ton of time in the Jedi Archives pouring through various texts in an effort to get closer to the Force. It is likely, though, that she had an innate Force-sensitivity based on her species, just as Yoda and Grogu did.

Her ultimate fate is not known, as her history somewhat fades after the events of the Battle of Naboo. The only fact that is certain is that Yaddle was no longer on the Jedi High Council when the Clone Wars broke out, and did not seem to take place in any of the wide-scale fighting. Even so, Yaddle is a unique Jedi in the Star Wars universe, and is a name that many hardcore fans will instantly recognize, despite her small role in the overarching story.
