In 2012, Disney bought Lucasfilm, which put Star Wars as we knew it on a completely new path. Along with that acquisition, a new trilogy of Star Wars movies was announced. And by 2015, the first of those movies arrived in theaters: Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.

This movie introduced new favorites to the Star Wars world: Daisy Ridley’s Rey, Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren, John Boyega’s Finn and Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron. And not only that, but the old crew was brought back as well — Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Carrie Fisher as Leia and Harrison Ford as Han Solo.

Of course, the movie opened to mixed reviews. But it’s still an exciting adventure to watch over and over again — as there are so many great moments to rewatch. From getting to see Han and Chewie again to the thrilling first lightsaber battle Rey has against Kylo Ren. So, with Star Wars under Disney’s management, is The Force Awakens streaming on Disney+?

Where to stream The Force Awakens

Yes, The Force Awakens is currently streaming on Disney+. When Disney+ first launched in 2019, it was one of the first movies loaded onto the brand new streaming platform. In fact, every Star Wars movie is currently streaming on Disney+, which makes the Mouse’s streaming service your go-to spot for Star Wars content.

If you recall, there was a time when The Force Awakens was on another streaming platform. After the movie ended its run in theaters, the movie went straight to Netflix as its streaming home. And, in fact, Netflix hosted almost all of the Disney-era Star Wars movies on its platform. That is, until Disney+ came around, of course.

So, if you’re looking to watch The Force Awakens, Disney+ is your spot. And with every other Star Wars movie on there, you can even have a Star Wars movie marathon all in one spot. You may even feel inclined to watch some of the other Star Wars titles like The Bad Batch and The Mandalorian, too, if you haven’t caught them yet.
