Star Wars’ premier live-action television show, The Mandalorian, has brought many new surprises and twists with it. Many of which reshaped Star Wars as we know it. And no moment represented that more than the season 2 finale end scene when Luke Skywalker showed up as an answer to Grogu’s call for help.
Previously, thanks to Ahsoka Tano, we knew that all Grogu had to do was send out a call at the Jedi temple, and a Jedi could possibly come to answer his call. But with there only being so few Jedi out there many years after the fall of the Order, there was no guarantee that someone would come find him and train him.
Luckily, Luke Skywalker’s heart was in the space of finding new Padawans and creating a new Jedi Order at that time. And so, we got the big season 2 rescue moment with Luke that will go down in the halls of Star Wars history. So, will we get to see more of Luke when it comes to The Mandalorian season 3?
Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian
One could only hope that Mark Hamill will reprise his role as Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian, though nothing is official just yet. Lucasfilm is still in the early stages of putting together season 3 of the series, so they haven’t revealed the full cast or even a synopsis just yet.
That being said, Luke Skywalker has Grogu now. And Grogu is just as much a part of The Mandalorian as Din Djarin himself. So at some point, we will have to see Luke again since he’s so closely tied to Grogu now.
This means we could see what Luke is like as a Jedi Master to his Padawans at his training academy. Or, it may be possible that Luke returns Grogu to Din if the little green alien prefers to be with his “dad” over training to be a Jedi. After all, we’re sure Din and Grogu can’t be separated for long, so it’s only a matter of time before they get back together again. But The Mandalorian season 3 won’t come out until sometime in 2022, so we’ll have quite some waiting to do before we see how the story fully plays out next season.
