The Book of Boba Fett is one of the most highly-anticipated shows on Disney+, and now the series’ star has revealed some brand new insights on its creation.
Temuera Morrison, who plays the titular bounty hunter, returned to the Star Wars universe during season 2 of The Mandalorian, and will reprise the role in The Book of Boba Fett. The New Zealand-born actor originally portrayed Boba’s father, Jango Fett, in 2002’s Attack of the Clones.
In an exclusive interview with Express UK, Morrison revealed that a number of mainstays from The Mandalorian will be appearing in the new show. This includes actress Ming-Na Wen, who portrayed Boba’s assassin partner Fennec Shand. In addition, director Jon Favreau, the showrunner for The Mandalorian, will be running and directing a number of episodes.
Favreau has been somewhat indoctrinated as a Star Wars tentpole ever since Din Djarin and Grogu first blasted onto the small screen. The Mandalorian was acclaimed by both fans and critics alike, so it’s no surprise that its showrunner will be helming more projects in the Star Wars universe.
Morrison talked about Favreau’s prior experience with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and how this played into his vision for the upcoming series. “I think we’re blessed in the way Favreau has all that Marvel experience, so we know where those storylines go,” he said. “Let’s see what happens.”
The Book of Boba Fett directors
In addition to the genius mind of Jon Favreau, The Book of Boba Fett will bring in a number of guest directors that also worked on The Mandalorian. These include eye-catching names like Robert Rodriguez, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Star Wars icon Dave Filoni.
However, despite these small slivers of detail, Disney is known for aggressive secrecy when it comes to its properties, and Star Wars is no different. This being the case, Morrison didn’t reveal any specific plotlines, but he did give some insight into a potential second season for the show.
“I think they’ll have to consider some things… the tree is still growing,” Morrison said. “They’ll probably want to test the waters first, there’s been no talk about it.”
While these tidbits are nice to have, it still does not reveal all that much about where Boba Fett’s adventures will take him. We’ll find out soon enough, though. The Book of Boba Fett is slated to begin streaming on Disney+ in December 2021.
