With five episodes left of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, we’re getting closer to unraveling the mystery of Omega, the Clones, and the aftermath of the world after Order 66.
In keeping with the general purpose and feeling of the show, “Devil’s Deal” continued to flesh out the larger Star Wars canon giving us further backstory with another familiar face: Hera Syndulla, a Twi’lek rebel best known for appearing on Star Wars Rebels.
This expansion of the Star Wars universe allowed for a sweet moment amidst the dark, political overtones of the episode — Omega and young Hera bonding.
Overall, the episode reinforced one of the most consistent themes of the series: the rise of both the Empire and the Rebellion, and the Bad Batch’s eventual need to choose a side.
“Devil’s Deal” also saw the return of Crosshair playing the role of the deadly assassin working mindlessly for the Empire. While he almost crossed paths with his former troopers, he is sure to be hot on their heels before long, especially with young Hera on the run, too.
With a mere five episodes left, The Bad Batch has several loose ends to tie up, likely involving a convergence with Crosshair and the Bad Batch fighting over Omega and Hera amidst the rising war between the Empire and the Rebellion.
In the meantime, we’ll have to tune in to find out what happens next.
