We may be months away from the holiday season, but that’s not stopping Star Wars from revealing a cool holiday item that’s guaranteed to spread fun and cheer this year: the LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar for 2021 ($39.99), which is available to order now.
And if you’re a fan of the Disney+ series The Mandalorian, this one is for you — because the whole advent calendar is themed around the series. If you aren’t shopping for yourself, then this calendar will likely be a good fit for any of the Baby Yoda, Mandalorian, or general Star Wars fans in your life. (But again, if you’re that fan in your life who needs this gift, we’re not one to judge!)
Inside, according to its description on the LEGO website, you’ll find an array of LEGO minifigures — such as Grogu wearing a holiday sweater and a festive Mando wearing a holiday scarf. And there will also be ships and props included to complete the ultimate Mandalorian holiday scene. (Fans will be able to use the advent calendar’s fold-out as the backdrop to their playtime.)
LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar 2021
Dare we say it… this has us wishing for a second LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special, but this time focused on The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda. You can see photos of the awesome, festive advent calendar below.
On StarWars.com, the site chatted with LEGO Star Wars designer Jason Zapantis, who talked about working on this advent calendar. When talking about the process of creating this with his team, he revealed:
"We look to pick a variety of builds balancing between the iconic elements from the show, recognizable favorites, and offering up some unique builds. Of course, we always have our Christmas-themed minifigures/modified builds each year. Something different for this year is that we have a buildable speeder bike that can be used by the Scout Trooper with room to attach Grogu in his holder on the back.We have a hover crib for Grogu and the ride-on droid transport trailer. A lot of the items allow for interaction and play with minifigures, with some builds belonging to a sub group in the calendar. There’s a lot of opportunity to create your own little stories with the builds."
So, the holiday season may still be far away. But even in the summertime, we can find a reason to embrace the warmth of the holiday spirit. And yes, even through Star Wars!
