In The Bad Batch episode 13, “Infested,” a new character was introduced in the Star Wars lore. That character was Roland Durand, someone who’s less of a friend and more of a foe to the Bad Batch.

Being a new character, we learn a lot about him in just under 30 minutes. We know he’s a part of a bigger crime family, and his mother is the crime boss behind it. And by being a part of this crime family, we see Roland work to assert his authority as a crime-boss-in-the-making by taking over Ord Mantell and Cid’s parlor.

Of course, by the end of the episode, Roland goes home with his tail between his legs as the Bad Batch take care of business. But it feels like we haven’t seen the last of Roland just yet, and there may be more to come.

So knowing this is a brand new character, some people are curious to know who’s the voice behind the new criminal. That voice actor is Tom Taylorson, who’s listed as doing the voice in the credits of episode 13. His IMDb has yet to include The Bad Batch, so there are no hints there about how many more episodes he’ll appear in. But Roland and the Durands sound like such an interesting family that we don’t think Star Wars is done with their development yet.

What has Tom Taylorson been in before?

This technically isn’t the first Star Wars voice-acting credit that Tom Taylorson has. In the same Bad Batch episode, he’s also credited as voicing Masked Guard #2. And previously, Taylorson worked on the series Star Wars Resistance where he voiced a character named Agent Raith in the episode “The Relic Raiders“. That was the character’s only appearance.

Outside of that, the actor has quite a lot of video game roles as well. His resume includes games like: Spider-Man: Miles MoralesHalf-Life: AlyxRed Dead Redemption IIGod of War (2018), and Mass Effect: Andromeda.

There are no live-action acting credits, according to his IMDb page, so you won’t have seen him in any recent TV shows or movies. But we do hope to see (or hear) more of Taylorson if The Bad Batch decides to bring his character back in future episodes.
