It’s been over 40 years since the first Star Wars movie, A New Hope, was released in theaters in 1977.
Luke Skywalker‘s story has had a tight grip on pop culture ever since, expanding into a franchise and universe that many generations have had the opportunity to fall in love with.
But, if you’ve yet to begin your journey among these particular stars, or want to take a trip down memory lane, here’s how to watch A New Hope online.
We start with Disney+.
Where to stream A New Hope
Yes, like the rest of Lucasfilm’s Star Wars movies, A New Hope is available to stream on Disney+. Of course, this means you could marathon the entire Skywalker saga on the platform from beginning to end.
Whether that means you start from A New Hope which is actually the fourth episode in the saga or you begin from Episode I: The Phantom Menace is up to you. But, it is possible to watch their family drama start to finish on the streamer.
Episode IV is also available to watch on TBS.com and TNT.com, however, you have to log in via your cable provider in order to access the film. Both sites have eight out of the nine movies in the Skywalker saga. They’re missing Episode IX: Rise of the Skywalker. If you’re going to use their sites, you have to move fast. The movies will be leaving both platforms by the end of July 2021.
The last option is to rent A New Hope through Amazon. For $3.80, you’ll have access to the film for 30 days, however, once you click play, you’ll have 48 hours to watch the movie before your access expires. For those interested in purchasing Episode IV, Amazon has the film priced at $19.
Whatever option you choose, may the Force be with you, and welcome to a galaxy far far away.
