There’s nothing better than kicking back and getting to watch your favorite Star Wars movie. Thankfully, with the convenience of streaming, you can watch any Star Wars movie instantly, wherever you are. And what better movie to pick than Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back?
Largely acclaimed as one of the best (if not, the best) Star Wars movies of all time, The Empire Strikes Back follows up on the original Star Wars film A New Hope in a big way. You might have thought the galaxy was at peace because the Death Star was destroyed, but the Rebel Alliance says otherwise. As long as the Empire still rules the galaxy, there is much work to do.
That’s where returners Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Han Solo (Harrison Ford) come in. Luke goes to train as a Jedi to prepare himself for the fight to come. And Leia and Han evade the bounty hunter Boba Fett that Darth Vader has chasing after them. Some exciting moments follow, and they’re the ones that we now recognize as cinematic classics.
So, if you’re planning on watching The Empire Strikes Back for the first or perhaps millionth time, where can you stream the movie? Here’s what’s available.
Where to stream The Empire Strikes Back
If you subscribe to Disney+, you will find The Empire Strikes back on that streaming platform. Subscribers have access to all nine Skywalker saga films, including Rogue One and Solo: A Star Wars Story. So you have access to all the Star Wars films in one place with a subscription to Disney+.
The Empire Strikes Back is not on Netflix or Hulu, so you won’t find the movie there if you have a regular subscription to either of those services.
The other option is to rent the movie if you don’t quite want to pay for a monthly subscription to Disney+. On Amazon Prime Video, the movie is available to rent for $3.99. And on other rental services, the price is about the same.
Happy watching, and keep up with Dork Side of the Force for more Star Wars movies updates, news and more!
