For months now, there have been rumors that Ezra Bridger will be entering the live-action Star Wars universe. And now, it feels like it’s only a matter of time before we see what happened to the Star Wars Rebels character.

As most fans know, Ezra had a mysterious disappearance in Star Wars Rebels linked to Grand Admiral Thrawn that has yet to be solved. And with the teaser of Thrawn mentioned by Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian season 2, it feels like we are getting closer than ever to seeing him and (even Thrawn) together on the big screen.

But, what has yet to be solidified is: what series will Ezra Bridger appear in? It seems that all signs are pointing to an appearance in the Ahsoka series. But will Ezra make an appearance in a series that will come out before that?

Is Ezra Bridger cast in The Mandalorian season 3?

Officially, there’s no word on whether or not Ezra Bridger will appear in The Mandalorian season 3. Though, as we typically like to think, there’s no reason why the character couldn’t appear in the series — especially if it were to kick off the Ahsoka series.

As we saw in The Mandalorian season 2, the final scene set up the spinoff The Book of Boba Fett. And, just like Marvel does, it basically teases what’s next in the Star Wars (or, rather, Mandalorian) universe.

There’s no date for the Ahsoka series just yet, but it will more than likely come out around 2023. Yes, that’s far away. But that gives 2022’s The Mandalorian season 3 plenty of time to set it up.

If it’s like season 2, we could get a scene that briefly shows Ahsoka finally finding Thrawn and/or Ezra — slightly teasing what’s to come in her series. Or, it’s also possible we could get a brief cameo sometime earlier in the season. With Ezra missing, we’re not sure Mando would just happen to stumble upon him during his journey. So, more than likely, it will have to involve Ahsoka in some way, just so the gap between these two stories is bridged over (no pun intended).
