Pretty soon, the first passengers from Earth will be embarking on a trip through space on the Halcyon starcruiser — aka, the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. This one-of-a-kind Star Wars hotel at Disney World is nearing its completion and ready to host its first guest. And just today, Disney revealed more information about what’s to come.

The Imagineers who worked on the new hotel sat together for a round-table discussion to talk about some of the things they’ve whipped up for this experience, and it’s quite exciting.

You can watch the 19-minute video from Disney Parks below, or you can read on past the video for our highlights about these newest updates.

1. It’s coming in the spring

That’s right! While the Starcruiser doesn’t have an official opening date just yet, it will be open to the public in spring 2022. That means there’s just under a year to go before it opens. And if you want, you can sign up for updates on the Starcruiser page so you’ll be notified as more develops.

2. There’ll be tons of great, new food

With every great vacation, there’s bound to be plenty of good food, and the Starcruiser will make no exception. The video previewed some of the interesting dishes you’ll see onboard, and it’s just as fun as the dishes they’ve created for Docking Bay 7 and Ronto Roasters at Galaxy’s Edge!

3. There’s great entertainment too

The Galactic Starcruiser is really more like a cruise ship than a normal hotel. And with that, the Imagineers are promising some fun entertainment as well. Look out for alien singers and/or musicians on board, as they might be performing during your meal.

4. You choose your path and continue it at Galaxy’s Edge

Previously, we learned that this experience allows you to choose who you want to be during your two-day, two-night stay. Now, they are also revealing that the story you use will continue over into Galaxy’s Edge when you make your way to Batuu, which will make it one cohesive roleplaying adventure. You can side with the Resistance, the First Order, or the scoundrels.

Plus, there will even be small roleplay events you can do throughout your stay, such as helping to smuggle luggage onto a ship for one of the characters. You may see these things happening on screen, up close, or even just coming across it in passing.

5. Expect to see some “action”

It’s been revealed that Kylo Ren and Rey will be a part of the experience. And the creators have teased that you may be in for some classic Star Wars action. We’re not 100 sure what this will look like, but it’s possible the finale of your stay may conclude with an epic showdown between Rey and Kylo Ren.

6. Cosplayers are welcome

Here’s something Disney Parks typically doesn’t do. While adults are not allowed to wear costumes, Star Wars cosplay is allowed. And this carries over onto the Galactic Starcruiser. If you want to live out your deepest Star Wars live-action role play dreams, this experience is for you.

7. The Galactic Starcruiser is canon

At least, most of it can be canon. The planet of Batuu and the things over at Galaxy’s Edge are already officially part of the Star Wars canon. So the Imagineers wanted to make sure they continue that flow with the Galactic Starcruiser. Perhaps the only thing that won’t be canon is the inclusion of yourself in the storyline when you visit. But hey, if you want to give yourself a Wookieepedia page for being a part of the Halcyon’s legacy, we won’t blame you!
