When actor Adam Driver joined Star Wars, he was already a pretty well-known celebrity in the mainstream. After jumping into the scene with the HBO show Girls, in which he played the bold and unapologetic character Adam Sackler — the on-and-off love interest of protagonist Hannah Horvath (Lena Dunham) — he quickly formed a sizable fanbase. And throughout the years since, he’s become both an indie darling and a blockbuster movie star. The word “versatile” is certainly a great way to describe Driver.
Of course, Star Wars fans all know Driver for playing the one and only Kylo Ren/Ben Solo — the brooding son of Han Solo and Leia Organa who by the time of the first film in the sequel trilogy, The Force Awakens, had turned to the Dark Side. Though Driver’s character is still pretty divisive in the fandom, he did give a great performance in all three movies.
The 37-year-old is a two-time Academy Award nominee and is one of the most popular actors out there today. So how much money does Driver have? Of course, one would assume Star Wars and Disney would pay the big bucks to all of their stars.
How much is Adam Driver worth?
It should come as no surprise that Adam Driver is a millionaire. However, there are conflicting reports out there as to exactly how much he’s worth. Celebrity Net Worth reports that Driver is worth $16 million, while Wealthy Gorilla states the actor’s net worth is estimated to be $10 million. With those two numbers, we’d assume he’s somewhere in the middle.
According to Business Insider, Driver was paid in the “mid-to-high six-figures” for The Force Awakens. This, per the publication, was a higher salary for one of the newcomers to the franchise.
Though Driver continues to pick up art house films, for example his latest project Annette alongside Marion Cotillard, he’s also being cast in big-budget movies, for instance his upcoming film House of Gucci which is directed by Ridley Scott and stars Lady Gaga, along with other prominent celebrities.
As for Star Wars, it doesn’t look like the Kylo Ren actor will be reprising his role, at least not anytime soon. In 2019, Driver revealed that he didn’t see a return to the Disney franchise in his future, saying of the possibility:
“This is not at all on the agenda. This experience will forever remain one of the highlights of my career, but I aspire to [do] other adventures.”
Adam Driver‘s resume is definitely one to be proud of, and even if he never returns to a galaxy far, far away at any point in the future, we’re sure he’ll still be financially set for life.
