Since its release in 2016, Rogue One has opened the door for many more Star Wars stories — and not just in movie form. Since it was announced, Andor has promised fans a show unlike anything we’ve gotten before: a spy thriller. In space. Set before the Empire knew how big of a threat the Rebel Alliance really was.

While production on the Disney+ series suffered the same hiccups as many films and shows did during the coronavirus pandemic, it still appears to be moving forward slowly. There’s no official release date, but casting rumors continue to surface as time goes on.

The Direct reports that Alex Lawther is the latest to join the Rogue One prequel series.

Lawther is best known for his role in the Netflix exclusive series The End of the F***ing World and will join Diego Luna and others along with Cassian Andor’s many treacherous adventures as a rebel spy prior to meeting Jyn Erso and giving up his life to save the galaxy.

Andor series cast

Every Star Wars character from Ahsoka Tano to Obi-Wan Kenobi has been rumored to make an appearance, and with 12 episodes in the show’s first season, a lot is possible.

An Ahsoka guest appearance or even a recurring role would make the most sense since both she and Cassian were part of the Fulcrum initiative in the early days of the Rebellion. She’s getting her own series, however, and details of Andor‘s story are still too vague to know for sure which characters might best be left out.

So far, Andor‘s IMDb page lists Luna as Cassian, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, and Michael Odin Cartwright as a mudtrooper. We’ll likely learn more about the show’s overall plot and character list closer to its 2022 release date.
