In The Mandalorian, we were treated to a cameo by Star Wars’ very own Dave Filoni, the father of The Clone Wars and the producer for the live-action show.

Filoni played the character Trapper Wolf, a New Republic pilot who crossed paths with Mando in season 2 after the bounty hunter’s tags failed to clear the New Republic’s clearance. In the end, Trapper and his New Republic mate let Mando off the hook, and that was the last we saw of Trapper Wolf in the series.

Now, there’s the possibility that Wolf might return… but not in The Mandalorian. As shared on the Star Wars Leaks subreddit, one of the production gifts for The Book of Boba Fett may be tipping off the fact that Filoni could appear in that series as well.

The gift was an enamel pin that featured the character Trapper Wolf holding a gun in his hands and sporting one of Dave Filoni’s signature cowboy hats on his head.

The pin can still be found on the website Production Treasures. And if you have a spare $500 laying around and have no better way to spend it, then you can make the pin yours for that incredible price.

Will Trapper Wolf be in The Book of Boba Fett?

So now, the question of whether or not Filoni’s character will actually be in The Book of Boba Fett still stands. Of course, with Filoni being a producer on this project as well, and the series being a spinoff of The Mandalorian, it’s completely possible that he may show up in this series.

And, in fact, there’s really no reason why he couldn’t. Given any number of reasons, Boba Fett and Fennec Shand could cross paths with him just as easily as Mando and Baby Yoda. We assume Boba Fett and Fennec are also lying pretty low from the new laws instated by the New Republic, so they might run into some trouble with his character.

There’s also the possibility that this was just a fun gift on the set. And Filoni’s involvement in the production could be just enough to warrant the creation, without him actually appearing in the series.

Still, there’s no denying that the former is probably the better option all around. And we do hope we’ll see Dave Filoni’s character again when The Book of Boba Fett comes out this December!
