The galaxy far, far away we’ve all come to love houses some of the most fascinating beings. Whether they’re humanoid, creatures, planets, fauna, etc. — they all make up the Star Wars universe. Today, we wanted to highlight five of the most interesting creatures in the galaxy.

First we should discuss what types of creatures inhabit these worlds. Humans make up a majority of beings, taking up positions in politics, civil service, and bounty hunting. And those most unfortunate end up as slaves. It’s not known whether they’re native of Coruscant or not but their civilizations expand into the Outer Rim as well. We won’t be referring to any human in this list, though.

Next, we have humanoid sentient species, beings such as Wookiees, Twi’leks and Jawas. These are beings who may look more creature than human but are intelligent. They’ve created societies on their planets and around the galaxy, with many taking up the same jobs as humans. Most speak in their own languages and if other species studied enough, they can also learn the language. People can look to Han Solo and Chewbacca as an example of this.

Finally, we have the animal non-sentient creatures. Just like our animals here on Earth, the galaxy is filled to the brim with those lowest on the food chain. Examples include beings like banthas, porgs and womp rats. Numerous beings in this category end up as lunch for the sentient species. However, there are those who will not be so easy to bring down, such as Krayt dragons and sando aqua monsters.

While every being in the galaxy is interesting in its own right, here at Dork Side of the Force, we’re going to be delving into five of them and talk about why we think they’re one of the more interesting ones out there.
