Ewan McGregor made his professional debut in 1993, and he only got more and more popular, especially after Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting and starring in a little old franchise called Star Wars. Needless to say, the Scottish actor has enjoyed immense success with roles in art house films to giant Michael Bay blockbusters.
All eyes are on him now as he will once again be stepping into the boots of Obi-Wan Kenobi. The upcoming six-episode mini-series titled after the Jedi Master himself will debut on Disney+ sometime in 2022.
If you’re like me and you’re impatiently waiting to see him again, there are a few of his works you can sit down and watch right now, streaming service provided of course.
What Ewan McGregor films are streaming right now?
If you’re only here for Star Wars and nothing but Star Wars, you’re in luck as the prequel trilogy is currently streaming on Disney+. You’ll be able to relive the story of Ewan McGregor’s hair from short with a rat tail, to fabulous mullet, to sophisticated comb-over. It’s an emotional journey for sure.

If you had to watch just one of these movies, I would say give I Love You Phillip Morris a try if you haven’t seen it already. Both McGregor and Jim Carrey really crush it in their roles as jail-crossed lovers. However, if you see him in Birds of Prey, he looks like he’s having an absolute blast. It’s much different than I’m used to seeing from him.
What’s next for the hottest thing to come out of Scotland since haggis? Well, besides Obi-Wan Kenobi of course. He’ll be the voice of Cricket in Pinocchio which is currently in post-production. He also has more roles in pre-production: The Cow, Raymond & Ray, Everest and a voice role in The Land of Sometimes. He’s a very busy man.
Stream away, friends!
