Though Star Wars Resistance ended after its second season, its fans span generations and its following continues to grow. Star Wars fans have even dedicated an entire day each year to revisiting favorite moments, characters, and themes from the beloved animated series, #RememberingResistance Day on Aug. 29.

Despite its short run — of the animated Star Wars series that have premiered so far, all but The Bad Batch (still ongoing) and Resistance have lasted more than two seasons — the show made a lasting impact on not just the fandom, but the creatives behind it. Many involved in the making of the show still jump at the chance to talk about and reflect on it, including Star Wars Resistance Executive Producer and Head Writer Brandon Auman.

In a recent interview with fan-made podcast Friends of the Force, Auman revealed very different plans for a certain character who was, originally, supposed to be Asajj Ventress.

Mika Grey, who appeared in a later episode of the series, hunted for Sith artifacts in the time of the First Order to keep them out of the wrong hands. Looking back, this would have been the perfect storyline for an older Ventress who, if events had aligned, would have survived long after the Clone Wars had ended.

Her character may never have appeared in Resistance, but we did still get plenty of memorable characters that remain in the hearts of many, even years after the show’s final episode aired. Take one look at the #RememberingResistance hashtag on Twitter and you’ll instantly fall into a seemingly endless collection of fan art and other creations celebrating the series and all it meant — and still means — to those who love it most.

You can read more about Asajj Ventress in Christie Golden’s Clone Wars-era novel Dark Disciple, which tells the story of her rise, fall, and redemption in a galaxy that rarely showed her kindness. Did we mention it’s also a love story? Enjoy.

Star Wars Resistance is currently streaming on Disney+.
