For two seasons now, Disney+’s The Mandalorian has delivered back-to-back hits. But like all good things, at some point, they have to come to an end.

So far, we know that The Mandalorian is definitely going to get a season 3. Filming for it is likely to be underway this month. And that means in no time, we’ll be back to see Din Djarin, Grogu, Greef Karga and so many other characters. That is, we mean we’ll be seeing them by 2022 when we say “in no time.”

But as far as The Mandalorian seasons go, will season 3 be it? Well, there’s a recent rumor out there that says the end could be near for The Mandalorian. That rumor comes from the StarWarsOnly YouTube channel, which posits that season 3 of The Mandalorian will be its last.

As with any rumor, we say to take it with a grain of salt as this hasn’t been confirmed by Lucasfilm or any other trade publication sources yet. But there is another rumor out there that puts a twist on what’s been said so far.

When will The Mandalorian end?

According to Cinelinx’s editor-in-chief, The Mandalorian could go on for a fourth season. But, whatever the case (whenever the series stops), the show could transform into another series/a series with a new title.

This basically sounds like another spinoff would be in the works, the same way The Book of Boba Fett is already the first spinoff of The Mandalorian. It also sounds similar to The Bad Batch, where the action in that television show picks up directly after the events of The Clone Wars.

We could definitely see this option working out if it were true. Instead of just focusing on Din, what if it becomes about a whole group of Mandalorians, including Bo-Katan, as they work to reclaim Mandalore? That way, Din Djarin is still included in the show, but it feels separate from his original adventures trying to save the Child.

Of course, as we said earlier, these should all be taken with a grain of salt until Lucasfilm officially reveals the plan. But we do know that the Mandalorian universe is expanding, and The Mandalorian series is just the tip of the iceberg.
