Star Wars video games have evolved significantly since their early days. Jedi: Fallen Order, for example, has some of the most realistic visuals in the franchise’s playable history. VR isn’t new, but the technology is allowing more immersive exploration in a galaxy far, far away, especially in games developed in recent years.

Tales From Galaxy’s Edge: Last Call is the latest of these — it has a new trailer, and with it, a confirmed release date that’s sooner than you may have expected.

StarWars.com announced more details about the game along with the full gameplay trailer. ILMxLAB, the Lucasfilm studio behind Vader Immortal, seems to have once again created a VR experience that will transport players into a galaxy far, far away full of characters familiar and new. IG-88 will be there – and he’s not the only familiar droid set to appear. New characters such as First Order Lt. Gauge. If the First Order is involved, things are probably going to get messy. You’d better practice your aim.

As the game’s title suggests, players will embark on a mission from Batuu’s own Dok-Ondar, tasked with retrieving a relic that could very easily fall into the wrong hands. According to the trailer above, you’ll encounter a vast array of characters – from droids to bounty hunters to Force-wielding Jedi. And the game’s VR component will allow you to experience it all as if you’re actually fighting for your life to save the galaxy. Excellent.

Jim Cummings will also reprise his role as Hondo Ohnaca, because no matter how much Hondo we get in anything these days, it’s never enough. Anthony Daniels will once again lend his voice to C-3PO, who will appear in the game alongside R2-D2.

Last Call will be playable exclusively on the Oculus Quest system. You can obtain your copy of the game on release day.
