Sunday was a great night for Obi-Wan Kenobi star Ewan McGregor. While the actor didn’t quite pull an early Emmy win for the spinoff series coming to Disney+, he did pull a win for another show that was on streaming this year.

The actor ended up taking home the award for Lead Actor in a Limited Series, Movie or Anthology for Halston on Netflix. And behind the scene after winning his award, the actor, of course, had to share a few words about his upcoming Obi-Wan series.

Well, McGregor primed his answer by saying he couldn’t really tease anything about the series, but then followed up by offering just a little bit for the press backstage (via Variety). Here’s what he had to say about the series:

"We finished our shooting– our series, and it was really, really good fun. I really enjoyed working with Deborah Chow. And, you know, I think it will not disappoint. I mean, you know, I think it’s gonna be good. I had a really good time making it and worked with some really wonderful people, lovely people… And the new technology that we employed doing it is cool. And it was a different experience than making the original three films that I did. And I really, really liked it."

Ewan McGregor officially wraps Obi-Wan filming

So, from Ewan McGregor himself, he has officially wrapped filming on Obi-Wan Kenobi. There were a lot of back and forth rumors over the past few weeks discussing whether or not filming had officially wrapped. So now, thanks to McGregor, we know for sure that (at least for him), things are complete for now.

And it’s also awesome to hear that he had such a great time making the series. We only wish he could reveal a little more, perhaps, about working with his co-stars like Hayden Christensen. But, understandably, the actor could only say so much about the series considering they’ve only just wrapped filming.

There’s no word on when Obi-Wan Kenobi will land on Disney+. But it’s looking like the series will have an early to mid-2022 release date.
