There’s finally a Luke Skywalker Funko Pop! from The Mandalorian coming
By Mia Johnson
More Star Wars Funko Pops! are on the way. And in a new collection revealed today, there are plenty more Funko Pops! from The Mandalorian season 2 that will be available.
Funny enough, the season 2 finale premiered in December 2020. And that Christmas, we compiled a list of next-wave Funko Pops! we’d like to see released, considering the season was over and there were no more spoilers to hide. Finally, only nine months later, and Funko has pretty much delivered when it comes to everything on our Mandalorian wishlist. And, even better, there will also be more than just Funko Pop! figures.
In this release, pretty much every character that was considered a spoiler has now gotten their own vinyl figure. That includes Boba Fett, naturally. And there’s also a Funko moment that includes him and Fennec Shand on Jabba’s throne. Fennec, of course, also gets her own standalone Pop! too.
Then, we have some loveable characters such as Cobb Vanth, the Frog Lady and… finally, Luke Skywalker himself! Luke, in this Pop!, appears as his younger self holding little Grogu. And there are several more Pops! as well, including a meditating Grogu and the Dark Troopers.
The Mandalorian Funko Pops!
On top of the Pop! vinyl figures, Funko will also be releasing a coin purse featuring The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda on the design. That will be an exclusive release from Walmart. And there will be an enamel pin set that includes Moff Gideon, Boba Fett, The Mandalorian and Grogu.
So, after all this time, it’s great to see these new Pop! figures finally being made. And speaking on how certain characters are chosen to be made into Funko Pops!, Funko creative director Reis O’Brien said to StarWars.com:
"We always know who the main heroes and villains are going to be, so they get chosen automatically. But we often discuss those breakout characters that may not have the biggest role, but will resonate with fans and collectors. And in the Pop! world, characters like that make for a perfect collectible. I always like to have at least one character per wave that makes people say, “Oh wow! I can’t believe they made that one! I gotta have it!”"
