When the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser experience was fully announced — along with estimated prices for a full stay at Disney’s “Star Wars hotel” — it seemed the whole thing might not turn out to be the success its creators hoped it would.
But according to Inside the Magic, any worries about the interactive experience probably aren’t worth holding onto. People are already booking their stays, so much so that spots are filling up quick. This may become another Disney attraction with near-impossible reservations … unless you book months in advance, of course.
Even though general reservations don’t become available to the masses until later this month, on Oct. 28, certain special groups already have booking access. This includes Club 33 members, Golden Oak residents, Disney Vacation Club members, Walt Disney World Annual Passholders, and Disney VISA Cardholders.
As of this report, the first available week in March is completely full already, as well as May 5, the day after May the Fourth (some call it Star Wars Day).
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser has a lot to offer
Back in August, Disney revealed a sample itinerary to give potential guests a better idea of what a stay on the Starcruiser might look like. It includes a wide array of activities, including meals and unique Star Wars-themed experiences exclusive to the hotel.
Disney World has also confirmed that the Galactic Starcruiser experience doesn’t actually take guests into space, though it would be hard to find complaints about pricing if that were actually the case. Maybe someday.
Aside from the prices, a major downside to the experience is that each stay only lasts a few days. So if you’re planning a trip to Disney World and want to get the Galactic Starcruiser experience — but want to stay near the park longer than that — you have to book and pay to stay elsewhere in addition to the cost of the Starcruiser, at least according to Inside the Magic’s recommendations for booking.
If you’re planning to call and book your stay on the Galactic Starcruiser, make sure you have all the details in mind beforehand, including all your preferences, how many people you’re booking for, and when you plan to stay (plus backup dates, in case your first choice is already taken).
