Star Wars: 15 surprising facts about the legendary Boba Fett
9. Boba Fett’s armor belonged to his father
Most Star Wars fans likely know that Boba Fett’s armor once belonged to his father, but they may not know the full backstory.
As revealed in the season 2 episode of The Mandalorian “The Tragedy,” Boba Fett tells Mando the Mandalorian armor he wears is rightfully his as it belonged to his father, Jango Fett, and proves it by displaying the armor’s chain code.
Indeed, according to Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need To Know, Updated and Expanded by Cole Horton, Adam Bray, Michael Kogge, and Kerrie Dougherty, Boba salvaged his father’s armor and repurposed it after his death, later repainting the once blue and silver armor a hunter green with brown and black accents.
However, adult Boba’s helmet is not the one Jango wore as he used it as part of his revenge plot against Mace Windu, setting a bomb inside of his father’s helmet to trap the Jedi and finally cluing them into who was trying to kill Mace.
It’s unclear where Boba’s repurposed helmet came from, but perhaps the story of his salvaged armor could appear in The Book of Boba Fett, answering more questions about how Boba spent his time between The Clone Wars and The Empire Strikes Back.
