4. Boba Fett uses a secret code to relay his relationship with his father

There are multiple moments throughout Boba Fett’s history where a secret code has been critical to saving his life or portraying his relationship with his father. First, in Attack of the Clones, it was revealed that Jango and Boba communicated in a secret language known as Fett Code, confirmed as an official language per the official Star Wars Kids YouTube channel.

It makes sense that Jango would teach Boba a code to help aid in their survival amongst the clones and Kaminoans so they could safely communicate in secret. Additionally, in The Mandalorian season two 2 episode “The Tragedy,” Boba displays the chain code in his armor to Mando in order to prove it belongs to him.

According to an article from Inverse, some fans translated the Mandalorian code which revealed more about Jango Fett’s origins and proved the armor belonged to him. However, the code also tied in lore from Star Wars legends, bringing in extended universe storytelling to Boba’s present storyline.

While Jango was a foundling, the translated code also mentioned Concord Dawn, a planet referenced in Star Wars Rebels that was destroyed during the Mandalorian Wars, and Mentor Jaster, a nod to Jaster Mereel, a divisive Mandalorian leader who apparently took in Jango.

If the code is meant to be canon, it could hint at more of Boba’s backstory as well as more of Mandalore’s. Regardless, both uses of code show Boba’s intelligence and persistence as a character.
