Dark Horse Comics is getting back into the Star Wars comics game in 2022!
According to StarWars.com, the publisher will be partnering with Lucasfilm and Disney World Publishing. Fans can anticipate all new adventures that span the breadth of the Star Wars universe from the High Republic to the First order.
Not much information on the stories set to make their debut in 2022 has been released, however, they’ll be arriving on shelves come the spring. Mark Richardson, the founder and CEO of Dark Horse, teased the following about what the publisher intends to focus on:
"The idea is to build up a Star Wars program that includes an on-going series as well as an anthology. Mixed in would be one-shots and specials. We’ll see where we go from there. Initially, we will focus on stories featuring the High Republic."
But as exciting as this news is. It does beg the question of whether or not Marvel’s Star Wars comics line will be affected by Dark Horse’s return to this galaxy far, far away. Here’s what we know!
Will Marvel’s Star Wars comics line continue in 2022?
Don’t worry Marvel Comics fans, their Star Wars line won’t be disrupted by Dark Horse’s. The all-ages comics and graphic novels set to be published by Dark Horse won’t be bringing with them the end of an era for Marvel.
Michael Siglain, the creative director for Lucasfilm Publishing, has expressed his excitement over the company’s partnership with Dark Horse. Siglain believes “here are unlimited storytelling possibilities for all ages comics” when it comes to the Star Wars universe and is looking forward to what comes of the collaboration.
