Stories within the Star Wars universe take place in a variety of media, including movies, of course, as well as comics, television shows, novels, and video games. And one of the best things about this is that characters that start in one medium often show up in others. One of the more exciting things The Mandalorian did for Star Wars fans was introducing fan favorite Ahsoka Tano into live action.

The character, of course, was introduced in The Clone Wars animated series as Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan and reappeared in Star Wars: Rebels as an operative working for the Rebel Alliance, but the character really came to life in a season two episode of The Mandalorian, as did Bo-Katan Kryze, who was also introduced in The Clone Wars. Doctor Aphra is a popular character introduced in the Star Wars Marvel Comics. Making her first appearance in Darth Vader, written by Keirron Gillen, Doctor Aphra worked to help Darth Vader discover the truth about his connection to Luke Skywalker before having to fake her death to free herself from Vader’s grasp.

She went on to feature in her own comic and works as a rogue archaeologist. Her ties to the criminal world of Star Wars, as well as her fun and amusing personality, make her a perfect character to introduce into live action, and perhaps we’ll see her in The Book of Boba Fett.
