This week’s festive installment of This Week In Star Wars piled on the reveals – from a brand-new comic series to a chilling book cover and more. It also recapped some news from earlier this week, including the announcement of Star Wars: Eclipse and Return of the Jedi‘s induction into the National Film Registry.

But the reveals were certainly a highlight from the weekly official Star Wars news show. First announced was Han Solo & Chewbacca, an upcoming Marvel comic series written by Marc Guggenheim and pencilled by David Messina.

The series will take place in the time period between Solo: A Star Wars Story and A New Hope and will debut in March 2022. There will even apparently be an issue told exclusively from Chewbacca’s perspective. You won’t want to miss it.

The cover for Star Wars: Stories of Jedi & Sith was also revealed. This middle-grade short story anthology will include tales from multiple Star Wars veteran authors. The cover features Darth Vader in his helmet illuminated in blue and red on either side to represent the light (Jedi) and dark (Sith) portrayed in the book.

Finally, it’s almost time to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the initial launch of The High Republic publishing initiative! On January 4, 2022, The High Republic Show Anniversary Special will put host Krystina Arielle and the “Luminous Five” authors together again for a look back – and a few glances forward – at where we’ve been … and where we’re going.

The event will take place at 10 a.m. PST on the same day Claudia Gray’s The Fallen Star releases to the public.

This Week In Star Wars will be taking a short break over the holidays, but will return with more news and special surprises in 2022.
