Fans are eager to see Ezra Bridger make his live-action debut in The Mandalorian with Mena Massoud being a favorite among fans for the role and it’s easy to see why.
Season 2 of The Mandalorian was quite the game-changing season for the Disney+ original drama, particularly in the way in which the season managed to introduce so many beloved characters into the season’s arc.
The surprise appearances of Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker and R2-D2 were standouts for many fans as was the arrival of Temuera Morrison’s Boba Fett, but the season also created headlines thanks to the many iconic characters who made their live-action Star Wars debuts.
Timothy Olyphant popped up for a one-episode guest appearance as Cobb Vanth, a character who first debuted in the 2015 novel Star Wars: Aftermath. Katee Sackhoff reprised her role as Bo-Katan Kryze for the first time in live-action after voicing the character in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. And then there was the long-anticipated live-action debut of Star Wars: The Clone Wars fan-favorite Ahsoka Tano, played to perfection by Rosario Dawson.
With so many characters making their live-action debuts in season 2, fans have been abuzz with anticipation over which iconic book and animated characters could be introduced next.
Although it’s unlikely Lucasfilm will let any secrets slip before The Mandalorian season 3 finally arrives, one character who many fans are hoping might make their live-action debut next season is Star Wars Rebels’ favorite Ezra Bridger. In fact, there have already been rumors swirling around the likelihood of Aladdin star Mena Massoud being tapped to play Ezra and it’s not hard to see why so many fans want to see him in the role after checking out one artist’s jaw-dropping fanart.

Lucasfilm has not yet announced the casting of Ezra Bridger for any live-action projects; however, thanks to an incredible new piece of fanart from artist Mizuri, we finally get the chance to see just what Mena Massoud could look like in the role if given the opportunity.
In the stunning concept art, Massoud transforms into Ezra donning his iconic orange jacket while wielding the green blade lightsaber he built after Darth Vader destroyed his original lightsaber on Malachor and signature helmet.
If there was ever any doubt over whether Massoud would make a good Ezra, Mizuri’s fanart definitely makes a strong case for just how incredible he could be in the role. We all know Massoud is an incredible actor and after seeing him in character as Ezra there is no denying he’s perfect for the Star Wars Rebels fan-favorite.
Will Mena Massoud play Ezra Bridger in The Mandalorian?
Although there has been no official confirmation, there have been rumors suggesting Lucasfilm has met with Mena Massoud to discuss the possibility of him joining the Star Wars franchise in the role of Ezra Bridger.
According to Geekocity, the two parties have been in conversation with Massoud viewed as a likely frontrunner for the role. While neither party has confirmed or denied the rumors, Massoud seems to have made it clear he’s interested in the role. All that’s left to do is Lucasfilm putting pen to paper in order to make fans’ dreams a reality.
