How is The Book of Boba Fett connected to The Mandalorian?

Very few may have seen the Star Wars The Book of Boba Fett Disney+ series coming. The same could said of his appearance on The Mandalorian considering Boba Fett was presumed dead since Return of the Jedi.

But the bounty hunter was far from it.  He survived the fall into the Sarlacc pit and now has an entire series to his name.

But before The Book of Boba Fett aired, the bounty hunter appeared on The Mandalorian. In a surprising twist it was Boba Fett who saved Fennec’s life.

Fennec Shand first appears in The Mandalorian Season 1 Chapter 5 “The Gunslinger” as the target of Toro Calican. He enlists the help of Din Djarin but in the end Toro decidedly kills Fennec to go after the bigger bounty prize: the Mandalorian himself.

Before you watch the Star Wars series The Book of Boba Fett let’s take a quick look at how he and Din Djarin know each other.

Turns out Boba Fett finds and saves Fennec, thus recruiting her to work with him. Boba Fett reveals himself in The Mandalorian Season 2 Chapter 14 “The Tragedy,” coming to claim the Mandalorian armor that belonged to his father Jango Fett.

In actuality Boba Fett is a clone of Jango Fett who was raised as Jango’s son. While Boba Fett wears Mandalorian armor he is not a Mandalorian himself.

Jango Fett however was a Mandalorian foundling just like Din Djarin. Din Djarin agrees to give Boba Fett the armor in exchange for his help in retrieving Grogu back from Moff Gideon.

Boba Fett and Fennec aid Din Djarin and other Mandalorians accomplish their mission. In the end, Grogu is saved by the group and taken by Jedi Luke Skywalker to safety to begin his Jedi training.

Afterward Boba Fett and Fennec make the journey to Tatooine where they successfully take Jabba the Hutt’s old throne. Now that he seeks power and change, what new enemies will he face?

There is a lot of anticipation for this Star Wars spinoff and a lot of questions that need to be answered. What do you think the new Tatooine will look like under Boba Fett’s rule?
