It’s a new year, which means there’s an entirely new cast of characters coming to Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes. After the buildup to the release of Starkiller in December 2021 — which included releasing four additional Legends characters available to unlock — releasing just one new character without a Galactic Legend might seem underwhelming. But you read the headline. It’s Iden Versio. She needs no fanfare.
Star Wars fans were first introduced to Iden in Star Wars: Battlefront II. The single-player campaign featured Iden and her squad as they fought for the Empire … then abruptly defected to the New Republic when their eyes were opened to the deep-rooted cruelty and evil of Imperial Forces.
Iden and several members of her team were also featured in Battlefront II: Inferno Squad, a prequel novel by Christie Golden that takes place before the events of the popular video game.
Today, Iden entered the Galaxy of Heroes playable universe as an Attacker and Imperial Trooper. This version of Iden captures her Imperial roots, making her a Dark Side character that has optimal synergy with members of the Empire, particularly Imperial troopers such as the Stormtrooper. It’c unclear whether or not an alternate Light Side version of the character will be released in the future.
Unlocking this character requires Imperial Trooper units, and she’s available to unlock for free up to four stars. Acquiring more at this time will require purchasing either the Inferno Squad Commander bundle ($19.99) or the Inferno Squad Commander pack (1,299 shards).
Iden’s Marquee event will be open for the next six days, at which point she will likely become farmable in Light Side battles (Hard Mode). Make sure you spend some time building up your Imperial Trooper units to make a solid team out of this solid leader.
