Star Wars: Andor series rumored to have a season 2
By Meg Dowell
Now that The Book of Boba Fett is quickly nearing its end (for now or forever, we’re still not sure which), Star Wars fans are anxious to find out when more content will become available on Disney+. Rumors of Obi-Wan Kenobi‘s release date and whispers of a spring 2022 debut for The Bad Batch Season 2 are just the tip of the iceberg. Now, Star Wars: Andor rumors have spiked thanks to quotes from a recent interview.
Several sources, such as What’s New on Disney Plus, have claimed that Andor has already been picked up for a second season. This rumor comes from a comment actor Stellan Skarsgard made during a recent interview. He said: “We start with ‘Dune 2’ in July. And then in the autumn, it’s time for the second season of the Star Wars series ‘Andor’.”
Skarsgard, most recently known for his role in Dune and the forthcoming Dune: Part 2, is set to appear in Andor though his exact role has not been specified. The actor gave no context to his comments other than to say he didn’t know when the presumed next season would debut, and no official sources or additional cast members have supported his claims. An exact release date for Andor‘s premiere season hasn’t been officially announced yet.
Andor is expected to follow Cassian Andor during his time as a Fulcrum agent before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. So far, we know the show will function as more of a spy thriller series during the earlier days of the Rebel Alliance. It hasn’t been confirmed whether or not the show will last more than one season.
Star Wars: Andor stars Diego Luna and Anton Valensi and is expected to arrive on Disney+ sometime in 2022,
