This post contains SPOILERS for The Book of Boba Fett “Chapter 6: From the Desert Comes a Stranger.”

After a few more details about Grogu’s escape during Order 66, many theories have been floating around about these exact details. This short scene didn’t seem to have many details at first glance, but on further examination, there are a few clues to how Grogu might have been saved. All the hints point to Barriss Offee, the fallen Jedi who betrayed Ahsoka Tano but the details remain far from clear.

Barriss Offee has a troubled past, but it began as a loyal padawan to Jedi Master Luminara Unduli. As time went on, Barriss lost faith in the Jedi Order and became convinced that the Jedi Order had lost its way.

To show that to the greater public Barriss planted a bomb in the Jedi Temple to fuel anti-Jedi sentiment. She framed Ahsoka as the one who planted the bombs and killed guards to ensure she would look guilty. Barriss even tried to kill Ahsoka with Ventress’s lightsaber, but eventually, she was caught.

As far as we know, Barriss was still in prison during Order 66. In the scene of Grogu’s flashback, we see the same symbol that we see when Barriss was confronted in her room. The symbol is indicative of Barriss Offee, and it is clearly seen in the flashback of Order 66. There has also been some indication of a Barriss Offee will be cast in the upcoming Ahsoka. Several casting calls have been put out for a person that fits the description of Barriss Offee.

Dave Filoni also specifically changed the fate of Barriss Offee at the end of the episode “The Wrong Jedi” to ensure that she survived. Dave Filoni said that he had “he had plans for Barriss.” All of these indications point to the fact that we have not seen the last of Barriss Offee, and the chances that her symbol appearing at the end of The Book of Boba Fett are close to nil.
