Quantic Dream is a lesser-known French game developer that has produced games such as Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human. The studio has been hired to produce a new Star Wars game set in the High Republic era, Star Wars: Eclipse.

As of right now, we have not had any games or series set in the High Republic era. In the future, we have a show named The Acolyte set to release in 2023 that will be set in the High Republic era as well. For now, we have to rely on the written material to set the world that Star War Eclipse will be set in.

This lack of material can be a good thing for a game narrative or developer as they have a large degree of creative freedom. As we see a continued trend of Star Wars games and series making their way into live-action, Star Wars: Eclipse could be a major narrative point in the High Republic era.

As of now, a Comicbook.com report suggests Star Wars: Eclipse is going to have a major focus on creating narrative strands and has released an inviting teaser trailer that promises high-quality graphics and narratives that cross the lines from every angle of the Star Wars universe similar to Jedi: Fallen Order.

Unfortunately, Quantic Dream has reportedly had some difficulty in finding enough developers to finish this massive project in time. The demands of the project include multiple playable storylines, multiplayer functionality, and a large number of character perspectives.

Even with Quantic Dream starting development in 2021 it could be 2023 before Star Wars fans get their hands on this game. Especially with the ability to hire more developers, this project will be one of the largest and possibly most popular games that Quantic Dream will work on.

As we continue to wait for more details about Star Wars Eclipse, it may be a good idea to dig deeper into the High Republic era narratives. Nevertheless, Star Wars: Eclipse promises to be a powerful narrative to introduce both the extreme Star Wars fan and casual enjoyer to the High Republic era.
