The finale of The Book of Boba Fett left Star Wars fans desperate for more content … at least until the Obi-Wan Kenobi series release date was announced later the same day. It appears Boba Fett and Fennec Shand’s story may be over. But is there more in store for other prominent characters?
Now that Book of Boba Fett has aired its final chapter — for now — Star Wars fans want to know whether or not there will be a second season of the relatively short Disney+ series. Unfortunately, Lucasfilm hasn’t spoken officially about plans to add on to this particular series yet.
The Book of Boba Fett wrapped up its story with very few loose ends, although its post-credits scene did imply that Chapter 7 would not be the last we’d see of at least one Star Wars character. It’s impossible to tell whether or not they will simply appear in an episode or two of The Mandalorian, however.
It’s possible that the end of The Mandalorian Season 3 could reveal the next installment of The Book of Boba Fett as it did at the end of Season 2. The two shows could very easily alternate years, with Book of Boba serving as a sort of interlude between larger Mandalorian arcs.
However, nothing has been confirmed or hinted at beyond Disney+ referring to Chapter 7 as a “season finale” instead of “series finale.” This probably doesn’t have a deeper meaning beyond a simple label, but anything is possible.
The good news for Star Wars TV fans is that there are plenty of shows on the horizon just in 2022 beyond Obi-Wan Kenobi. Season 2 of The Bad Batch will also arrive on Disney+ this year, as well as Star Wars: Andor, though official release dates for both shows have yet to be announced.
Fear not. Even if we’ve seen the last of The Book of Boba Fett for a while, there’s plenty more for fans to look forward to this year.
Season 1 of The Book of Boba Fett is streaming now exclusively on Disney+.
