After Cad Bane’s appearance in Episode 6 of The Book of Boba Fett, there was a lot of interest in both his history and his potential future. After his fateful duel with Boba Fett at the end of The Book of Boba Fett Episode 7 many might assume that Cad Bane had been killed. But this isn’t the first time that Boba has tried to kill Cad Bane, and he has proved to make himself a hard man to kill.

Cad Bane has spent decades optimizing his body, weapons, and tactics to kill a myriad of opportunities, including Jedi. Cad Bane’s primary weapons were the LL-30 blaster pistol which he used in conjunction with his vambraces. His gauntlets have both stunners and flamethrowers, which make him quite deadly. As for survivability, he wore various amounts of armor and that is enhanced by his removable breathing tubes and metalhead plate he got after his first duel with Boba Fett.

Cad Bane also usually travels with a Todo 360 techno service droid, that has a myriad of abilities that vary from mission to mission. Todo 360 has proved to be extremely loyal to Cad Bane, serving him even if it means damage to himself.

One would think that Todo would attempt to help Cad Bane if he would be injured. After Bane’s death on Tatooine, we notice something odd going on with his body. In the middle of his chest, we see a flashing red light.

This light could very well be a heartbeat monitor, in which case Cad Bane’s heart never stopped beating at all. Or it could be an emergency signal being sent to Todo, presumably in the case that Bane was ignored. Episode 7 also revealed that Cobb Vanth was in a Bacta tank recovery from several blaster shots, and with Bane’s wealth he certainly could have afforded one himself. With all the mysterious and outlandish revival stories we have seen before, Cad Bane’s death certainly would not stand out.

For a man that was prepared for anything, and who has already survived a blaster bolt to the head, it seems unlikely that a simple stab wound to the chest would be his undoing. We will just have to wait and see if Bane will rear his ugly head again.
