In-universe, the Star Wars timeline spans centuries. Some of the most common questions fans ask about various stories throughout the history of a galaxy far, far away boil down to: “When does this take place in the bigger story?”

Written by Kristin Baver, Jason Fry, Cole Horton, Amy Richau, and Clayton Sandell, Star Wars: Timelines will, as its subtitle specifies, chronicle the history of a galaxy far, far away from pre-High Republic times to the end of the First Order.

According to StarWars.com:

"“The all-new guide breaks down the in-universe history of Star Wars for a stunning visual guide that spans from the time before the High Republic to the fall of the First Order, encompassing the Skywalker saga films, live-action series and animation, books and comics, games and more.”"

Star Wars: Timelines comes from DK, the publisher behind many illustrated and visual reference books, including multiple Star Wars guides. The book’s authors have all spent significant time with these stories, and have mapped out an information-packed book you’ll find yourself flipping through more than once.

“I first gained a real appreciation for the way events across all kinds of Star Wars storytelling intertwine when I was writing Skywalker: A Family at War in 2020, but that was just scratching the surface compared to this project,” Baver said. “It’s a thrill to be working with such an accomplished crew of writers to take on this Summa-verminoth-sized job.”

This is the kind of book that will show Star Wars fans exactly how various events throughout history intersect and fit together to tell the saga’s larger story.

Now that the Skywalker Saga is complete, and other stories since have enriched its lore, Star Wars; Timelines will be the most comprehensive summary of events there has ever been.
