The Mandalorian comic adaptation is coming this summer
After The Mandalorian’s explosive debate in November of 2019, the show has quickly become a fan favorite. With the backing of titans such as Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, we have all come to love the Beskar plated hero, and his powerful green companion. Now our favorite character will be available in another format, a comic book.
According to a new report from Star Wars.com, we will be getting an 8-episode run starting this June.
The series will be written by Rodney Barnes, who has worked on projects such as Star Wars: Lando – Double or Nothing and King in Black: Planet of the Symbiotes. The illustrator is Georges Jeanty, who is working on the Star Wars: The New Republic series and the U.S. Agent series as well as winning an Eisner award.
This award-winning and successful staff is a great choice for this project, and thankful they are even excited about the job. Barnes said “The story of The Mandalorian checks so many boxes of the stuff I’m passionate about, I love Westerns, fantasy, science fiction, comedy, drama…it’s a dream gig for any writer. I’m just glad I was chosen for this assignment!”
As for right now little is known about the content of this new series. It could very well be a completely new story set in the gaps between episodes or seasons, but it also could be just a comic with some additional details within the same storyline we have already seen. Either way with a release date in June, this new comic will have been completed long before Season 3 of The Mandalorian will be released this Christmas. That means that we will have to stay tuned to the possibility of some important details being released.
Either way, from what we have seen so far we will be getting a great new comic with breath-taking visuals and an amazing storyline.
