Andor is set to make its premiere this year on Disney+, reportedly in the fall. As such we’re still far out from when we’ll be reunited with Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor. However, news about the upcoming series is still coming in, just enough to keep fans holding on until the show’s debut.

The latest news comes from a report by The Direct. Citing the Scottish tabloid, The Daily Record, the report announces that David Hayman has been cast in the series. Apparently, it’s been a poorly kept secret with the actor being stopped with questions on whether he’s filming Star Wars or his show Wonders of Scotland.

Andor is rumored to be filming in Oban, Scotland and Hayman has been spotted on set. While there’s yet to be confirmation on his casting in the series, the part he could be playing is described as a ‘key’ role.

Here’s what we know!

Who could David Hayman play in Andor?

While Hayman’s presence on Andor‘s rumored set hasn’t been kept under wraps, the character he could be playing has been. The Direct reports that what the actor could have filmed didn’t involve elaborate sets as far as they know. As such, if it is for Andor, the scene is being set for the use of Oban’s natural landscape. How that could play into the series is yet unknown.

However, as season 1 of Cassian’s show has already wrapped filming, Hayman having been spotted could give credence to the rumors that the series has been greenlit for a second season ahead of its premiere later this year and that production on season 2 is in full swing.

We’ll keep you posted on more Andor news and coverage as it comes in. Stay tuned to Dork Side of the Force, your go-to FanSided site for all things Star Wars!
