LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga DLC packs unveiled
We are just one short month away from the release of the long-awaited LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. All early trailers and developer interviews point to an immense universe to explore, including planets and storylines across all nine films.
That also means a deep character roster, something the LEGO games have become famous for. The Skywalker Saga presents one of the biggest yet in the launch product, including over 300 playable characters and a number of familiar background actors.
However, as is typical for LEGO games, the list grows even further from there. We have known about The Skywalker Saga’s DLC content for some time but now Warners Bros and TT Games have officially announced what fans can expect from the game’s seven character packs.
What’s included in The Skywalker Saga’s Character Collection Bundle?
First, releasing alongside the game on April 5, will be the Mandalorian Season 1 and Solo: A Star Wars Story packs. The former feels like the most must-have of the bunch, including the Mandalorian himself and a non-playable Grogu alongside Greef Karga, Cara Dune, IG-11 and Kuiil.
Next, the Solo pack adds the young iterations of Han, Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian as well as Qi’ra, Tobias Beckett and Enfys Nest. It should be particularly neat seeing young Han Solo team up with his future self, which the next pack, Classic Characters, will give players the chance to do.
Available on launch day for those who preordered the game or worldwide on April 19, the Classic Characters pack includes Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Darth Vader and Lando Calrissian. It’s upsetting that such iconic characters are gated behind a paywall but I’m holding out hope that these are merely alternate outfits rather than the only way to obtain them.
Following the same release pattern is the Trooper pack, which will feature the Incinerator Trooper, Imperial Shore Trooper, Mimban Stormtrooper, Range Trooper and the Death Trooper.
Some of those troopers made their first appearance during Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, one of the larger DLC packs. This will include Jyn Erso — another character with the potential for multiple outfits — Bodhi Rook, Cassian Andor, K-2S0, Imwe, Baze Malbus and Director Krennic.
The final two DLC packs are both reserved for May 4, meaning there isn’t much time to wait for the full roster. The first will expand the Mandalorian’s presence even further with characters from Season 2. That list includes Ahsoka Tano, Boba Fett, Bo Katan, Fennec Shand and Moff Gideon.
Last, but not least, rounding out this wave will be the Bad Batch, including Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Crosshair and Echo.
In total, that adds 38 new characters to the game’s already massive roster. Time will tell if any more DLC packs pop up down the line.
For now, fans can pre-order the deluxe edition of the game with the Character Collection Bundle and an exclusive classic Obi-Wan Kenobi included for $70. Otherwise, these packs will be available separately and in a Season Pass to be later released.
