The Obi-Wan Kenobi series, set to premiere Wednesday, May 25 on Disney+, will return fans to the deserts of Tatooine.
Given The Book of Boba Fett recently ended, it hasn’t been too long since we traversed the region with a Star Wars character, however, this time we’ll be seeing the planet from Obi-Wan’s perspective.
With very little hope left, the Jedi Knight is holding onto a singular mission. He’s looking after Luke Skywalker. The boy’s guardian is Owen Lars, known as Uncle Owen to Luke, and he has every intention on keeping the young Skywalker safe as well.
According to rumors, that’ll involve Obi-Wan staying away from his charger. There are Inquisitors on the hunt for Jedi who managed to escape Order 66. In first look images, one such Inquisitor even has a stand-off with Owen. Her name is Reva, and we doubt Obi-Wan will make it through the series without encountering her himself.
Owen has been a part of the Skywalker’s story since the beginning. Here’s who’ll be playing the character in the latest addition to this saga!
Who plays Owen Lars in Obi-Wan Kenobi?
Joel Edgerton will be reprising his role as Owen in the series. He was featured in 2002’s Episode II: Attack of the Clones as well as in 2005’s Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
Taking the rumors of Obi-Wan Kenobi‘s plot into consideration, we expect to see him interact with the Jedi Knight quite a bit since he’s Obi-Wan’s sole connection to Luke. The moisture farmer’s focus is on his homestead and his charge. The drama Obi-Wan could bring into Luke’s life is the last thing he wants the boy to deal with.
