The six episode limited series, Obi-Wan Kenobi, is set to land on Disney+ starting Wednesday, May 25. The show, as the title makes clear, will follow the iconic Jedi Knight.

Ewan McGregor is reprising his role as Obi-Wan for the series which will take viewers into the events that transpired in the Star Wars universe after Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

We’re returned to Obi-Wan’s side as he deals with the loss of Anakin as an ally and his hope now that the Empire has risen to power. However, while he’s on his own, Obi-Wan isn’t without a mission. He intends to look after Anakin’s son, Luke.

Due to this plot point, fans have been wondering if we’ll actually see the young Skywalker in the series or if he’ll merely be referenced. Here’s what we know!

Is Luke Skywalker in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series?

Update: The trailer for the series has dropped, giving viewers a glimpse at a young Luke Skywalker.

CBR reports that there are rumors that the Skywalker family will play a large role in the series. That’s not surprising considering we know Obi-Wan is keeping a close eye on Luke, Hayden Christensen is reprising his role as Darth Vader, and Joel Edgerton is returning as Owen Lars.

Uncle Owen is Luke’s guardian and, in first look images, he’s standing off against Inquisitor Reva (Moses Ingram). She’s hunting Jedi which means Obi-Wan will most certainly have a confrontation of his own with the ambitious Imperial soldier.

There are also rumors that Leia Organa will make an appearance in the series, so if we see one twin, we’re likely to see the other. Her role is rumored to revolve around a rescue mission Obi-Wan must launch on behalf of Bail Organa.

Currently, there’s been no casting news about the two siblings. We’ll keep you posted. Stay tuned to Dork Side of the Force for more Obi-Wan Kenobi news and coverage!
