Halo actor Pablo Schreiber called Pedro Pascal for a sweet personal favor
By Meg Dowell
In Hollywood, many actors know each other personally even if they haven’t worked together directly more than a few occasions or at all. Halo actor Pablo Schreiber hasn’t been on the set of The Mandalorian alongside Pedro Pascal. But the actors have connected outside professional settings, and not necessarily for work-related favors.
In an interview with TV Line, Schreiber clarified why he really reached out to Pascal. It actually had nothing to do with Halo or The Mandalorian, at least not directly. The request, it turns out, was much more personal.
“I did call [Pedro] and ask him for a birthday video for my kid,” the actor clarified. “From one helmeted soldier to another, ‘Can I just get a little birthday shout-out?’ He was very amenable to that, and sent me one immediately.”
Both Schreiber and Pascal have had impressive on-screen careers leading up to their respective Halo and Mandalorian roles. Schreiber has appeared in massive TV series such as American Gods, Organe is the New Black, and Defending Jacob. Pascal’s resume includes Narcos, Game of Thrones, and more.
In March 2022, Schreiber will debut the role of Master Cheif in the brand-new Halo TV series, based on the popular video game franchise, exclusively on Paramount+. In addition to Pascal’s upcoming role in The Last of Us in 2023, he will also continue playing the role of Din Djarin in Season 3 of The Mandalorian on Disney+, though a release date for the new season has yet to be announced.
The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, and more, and was created by Jon Favreau with numerous individuals producing and directing various episodes of the series. More information on the third season of the Disney+ series is expected to be released soon.
