After Cartoon Network decided to pull Star Wars: The Clone Wars in 2013, there were many stories left untold. Even with the sixth season released as a CD, many fans really wanted more. If you knew about it then, there were several story reels with complete voice acting from the original voice actors, and partially animated scenes. Several of those arcs made their way back into cannon with Disney explosion series 7 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. One that focuses on Anakin and Obi-Wan may have another chance at life, but this time in live-action.

With Obi-Wan Kenobi’s release right around the corner, there is the possibility to get answers to a few unanswered questions. The scene in question revolves around finding a kyber crystal being hidden on the planet Utapau (yes, where General Grevious meets his uncivilized end). The scene is between Obi-Wan and Anakin as they chase after the crystal and sit down around a campfire discussing Ahsoka’s choice to leave the Jedi Order.

Anakin talks to Obi-Wan about how he feels having failed Ahsoka. In his mind, his relationship with Ahsoka is the same as Obi-Wan’s with him. The scene ends with Anakin asking the fateful question “How well would you sleep at night knowing you failed me?” This scene is heartbreaking but is also a clear foreshadowing of how Obi-Wan would feel in the future.

That future seems to be what we see in the Obi-Wan Kenobi Trailer. Obi-Wan admits that he has failed everyone, and is seemingly defeated. With Hayden Christensen confirmed to be in every single one of the six episodes, we certainly can count on seeing a lot of Darth Vader, or will we be seeing a lot of Anakin Skywalker. Whether this scene ever makes it to live-action doesn’t change the implications, that Ahsoka leaving was the beginning of the end for Anakin.
