Rumor: More episodes of Star Wars Visions reportedly coming to Disney+
By Meg Dowell
After several award nominations, a novel, and high praise from fans, it looks like Star Wars Visions might not be over after all. A report has surfaced that more episodes of Star Wars Visions are on the way. It’s unclear whether or not these will be sequels to previous episodes or brand-new stories — or a combination of the two.
According to Cinelinx, “Over the last few days I’ve had multiple, independent, sources reach out to tell me some good news. Not only is Star Wars Visions 2 in the works … but it is set to arrive THIS YEAR.”
The site does not specify its source or whether or not the information is coming directly from officials at Lucasfilm. It does, however, refer to a potential new round of shorts as the series’ second season, which could mean some of the stories that began in the first round of shorts could continue in the second batch.
From the voice acting to the music to the animation and storytelling, there’s a lot to love about Star Wars Visions. These Star Wars-inspired stories each stand alone from one another, so they’re easy to watch one at a time or all together if you have a few hours to spare. Their characters and stories are both intriguing and moving. Even if new episodes aren’t happening anytime soon, the original shorts will remain beloved points of discussion in the Star Wars fan community and beyond.
Season 2 of Star Wars Visions may only be an unofficial rumor at this time. But there’s no denying that the majority of Star Wars fans who watched the original shorts wouldn’t mind seeing more from the Japanese studios that brought them to life last year.
All nine episodes of Star Wars Visions are available to stream on Disney+ now.
