Bryce Dallas Howard teases important Ahsoka series and Clone Wars connections
By Meg Dowell
Are all Star Wars TV shows connected? Story-wsie, they each tell their own separate narratives. But when it comes to key characters and events, there seems to be a common thread linking all of them together. Bryce Dallas Howard recently hinted at important connections between The Clone Wars and another future Star Wars project.
In a recent interview with Romper, the director discussed growing up with Ron Howard as a father, having George Lucas as a family friend, and even a little about the upcoming Ahsoka Disney+ series — though she could only say so much about what’s to come.
When the subject of Dave Filoni and The Clone Wars came up, Bryce Dallas Howard was quick to mention how much fans of the animated series are especially going to love this live-action series featuring one of its most popular characters.
“Without giving anything away, you are going to love the Ahsoka show that’s coming up,” she said. “I cannot tell you anything, but what I can say is that you being a fan of the Clone Wars will be greatly rewarded.”
This vague tease could mean just about anything — will Ahsoka meet up with Captain Rex again? Will the Martez sisters make an appearance? Will she look back on moments between her and Anakin Skywalker? Fans who watched all seven seasons of the series are going to catch the deep cuts and quick references other viewers might miss — which doesn’t mean those who haven’t watched it won’t still enjoy Ahsoka. It just means it might not be the worst idea to watch the series now, or revisit your favorite episodes before the new series debuts.
Ahsoka will presumably follow Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren on a quest to locate Grand Admiral Thrawn, based on what viewers learned in Season 2 of The Mandalorian where Ahsoka first appeared in live-action. Few additional details about the series are available, with much more information to come.
Star Wars: Ahsoka stars Rosario Dawson and Natasha Liu Bordizzo and is expected to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2023.
