Will Shadow of the Sith finally reveal Rey’s parents’ names?

Shadow of the Sith by Adam Christopher releases this summer on June 28th. This essential novel will tell the story of Luke and Lando searching for the planet Exegol and crossing paths with the Sith assassin Ochi of Bestoon, who is hunting a young family across the galaxy.

That young family is none other than Rey and her as of yet unnamed parents. As revealed in The Rise of Skywalker, Rey’s father is an imperfect clone of the Sith emperor Sheev Palpatine played by Billy Howle, and nothing is known about her mother, who is played by actress Jodie Comer.

In reply to a tweet earlier this morning questioning whether or not Star Wars planned on naming the two characters, author Adam Christopher played coy, responding “Hmmm… lemme think…” The tweet has since gotten over 600 likes and 60 comments, and Christopher is clearly enjoying toying with the fans, tweeting out GIF videos of Jodie Comer’s Villanelle, from the BBC series Killing Eve.

Rey’s parentage has been the greatest mystery surrounding her character since her first appearance in The Force Awakens in 2015, so when JJ Abrams decided to drop the bomb of Rey being a Palpatine with very little explanation, fans were rightfully bothered. With Shadow of the Sith seemingly serving as a definitive bridge to the sequel trilogy and origin for Rey, Adam Christopher could be the one to set it all right.

Shadow of the Sith could completely change the way Star Wars fans see Rey. Finally seeing her parents and the lengths they went through to protect their daughter from The Senate himself will be an incredible experience.

So, will Rey’s parents’ names be revealed? It would be fair to say yes, they will. Fans can expect that and much more when Shadow of the Sith hits shelves later this year.
